An Innovation in Communications award run by the Municipal Journal will be sponsored by LGcommunications, with members encouraged to apply.
The award looks to pick out the best and most forward thinking local government communications projects and campaigns, or the successful handling of a crisis. Results must be clearly evaluated and campaigns must have clear evidence that they have succeeded.
Entrants should apply by 2nd February 2018, and the awards night will be on 27th June 2018.
Simon Jones, chairman of LGcommunications, said: “We are looking for the brightest and best with this award, which seeks out the smartest and most creative ways to do communications in the public sector. It is a pleasure for us to be associated with the MJ and their awards night is sure to be a highlight of the year as always. Get your applications in so that you can be a winner in June.”
Applications should include an account of the challenge the authority or team faced, a description of how the project came into being, its aims and how it was carried out and the obstacles that were overcome to achieve it.
They should also consider whether the planned outcomes were met, how the project met the corporate aims of the authority, how much of the ideas behind the project were locally-driven, what funding was accessed and the level of partnership working involved in the project.
