Place Branding - June 2017
This seminar will look at how you and your organisation can start to brand your place and build a vision, through a series of case studies.
The recent report by the LGA, Local Solutions: Boosting the Local Economy, highlighted how important the visitor economy was, as one of the fastest growing sectors of the economy and a key part of the solution to economic growth and community development. The report emphasised the importance of continued investment by councils in the visitor economy, using devolution as an opportunity to improve infrastructure and facilities.
Tourism is an integral part of local authorities’ work on place-making, providing a strong focus on regeneration and economic development with the public realm being made more sustainable through visitor income.
During this semionar, you will hear how places like Thanet in Kent and Visit Hertfordshire are building their places and the local economy, through destination marketing. There will also be a workshop element to look at solutions to your own place making conundrums and opportunities.
