Using your smartphone to create good-quality video content

Video is everywhere these days

It’s more engaging than text on a web page, it’s more shareable, it creates stronger consumer attention and viewers are more likely to have a greater emotional connection with video content and your organisation.

Sites like You Tube, Facebook and Twitter are bursting with video.

There’ll always be occasions when you’ll need an expert production company, but for day-to-day video content, you’d be surprised by what you can achieve with just a smartphone.

In this session we’ll show you how to harness the power of the device in your pocket.

What will we cover:

• The extra kit you’ll need to enhance your smartphone video
• What apps to download and use
• Basic filming techniques
• Sound
• Lighting
• Shot composition
• Recording interviews
• Post production (editing) and publishing

The course content focuses on Apple iPhones or iPads, but users of Android devices are more than welcome to join. The dress code is casual/comfortable as we will spend some time outside shooting material and interviews.

This seminar will take place on Friday 4 October from 10am – 5pm at:

The Queen Mary Room
